A Virtual Public Hearing will be held by the Trenton Planning Commission via Zoom meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, to review and hear comments on the following:
A Zoning Ordinance to replace the previous ordinance that was adopted February 20, 2007. The proposed ordinance includes the creation of new zoning districts, new and updated definitions, permitted and special uses for districts, and new requirements and regulations for the City of Trenton. The Zoning Ordinance is designed to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare, to encourage the use of lands in accordance with their character and adaptability.
In addition, a revised Zoning Map is being proposed to reflect created and re-zoned districts as proposed by the ordinance.

The proposed ordinance and revised zoning map will also be on file at the Trenton City Clerk’s Office from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for examination by interested citizens and taxpayers.
The meeting is being held electronically in compliance with Governor Whitmer’s Executive Orders 2020-110 and 2020-129 which suspend in-person government activities not necessary to sustain or protect life and the Open Meetings Act requirements (COVID-19 Pandemic).

Public comments may be heard during the public participation portion of the hearing. Comments may also be submitted to the Planning Commission’s Clerk in writing by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2020, addressed to the City of Trenton, Planning Commission, 2800 Third Street, Trenton, Michigan 48183.
