Are you looking for delicious new food items that are locally made or sourced? This market features over 25 weekly vendors selling a wide range of delicious food and handcrafted items. Some of the types of food you will find at the market include: fresh produce, handmade butter, local honey, handmade pasta, Evie's Tamales, hot sauce & salsa, fresh baked breads, delicious baked goods, cheese, maple syrup, spices & seasonings, coffee, tea and so much more. Outside of food, you will also find items such as: fresh baked dog treats, handcrafted wood signs, essential oils, candles, bath & body products and so much more. You can also come out and have dinner as there are many vendors selling delicious food items you can eat right at the market at our picnic tables.

Register for this event beginning Monday, August 7 at the Trenton Recreation office or Saturday, September 9 day of the event. Dogs must be licensed and vaccinated and owners must be prepared for clean-up duty. Up-to-date dog license and proof of vaccinations must be shown to register.

The Kennedy Pool has officially "Gone to the Dogs," for one day that is!The Kennedy Aquatic Center will open its doors again to man's best friend. Bring your favorite four-legged pal for a dip in the pool from noon-3 p.m. There will be pet contests, treats and more! Pet friendly vendors will be on hand beginning at 11 a.m. to share their canine wares, so come early!

On Saturday, gardeners can swap their surplus plants with fellow gardeners at Trenton's Annual Perennial Plant Exchange. The ground rules are simple; bring the plants you want to trade clearly marked in plastic bags or pots. Arrive at 10 a.m. sharp! The Trenton Civic Commission and Parks and Recreation have once again teamed up to kick-off the holiday season in a big way with the annual "Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony." Stroll downtown and welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus to Trenton. The downtown streets will be all aglow with hand-held candles illuminating the parade route. The Parade begins at 6 p.m. Following the Tree Lighting Ceremony, all are invited to Trenton City Hall for the Parade afterglow and awards.

Annually, the Trenton Civic Commission recognizes outstanding Trenton citizens for their contribution to our community. Awards are bestowed at the annual City Award's Banquet. This year's event will be held at the beautifully restored, Chateau on the River, located in Elizabeth Park on Saturday, January 20, 2018. A variety of award categories are available. The Trenton Civic Commission invites you to nominate residents worthy of such honors. The award categories include: Trentonite of the Year, Good Neighbor of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Outstanding Woman and Man, Outstanding Trenton Youth and Charlie Brown, which recognizes an individual that has contributed their time and energy to benefit the young athletes of our community.

Get Ready! The City of Trenton and the Michigan Interscholastic Hockey League will be combining efforts for the 17th consecutive year to bring you the 18th Annual MIHL Prep Hockey Showcase. The Top 42 High School Hockey Teams in the Mid-West including teams from Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana will show what hockey is all about.

Over three days, each team will play two games and showcase their talents in front of the best professional, college and junior hockey scouts. This event is possible by tremendous community support and we are always looking to add to our volunteer base. Call (734) 676-7172 for more information.

The Jamboree on Ice is Downriver's longest running show and displays the talents of all ages from 3 - 99. This year's Jamboree on Ice will pick up right where we left off last year. We will celebrate the skills of our growing students!

Trenton Civic Commission and Trenton Rotary are sponsoring a "Community Shred" Day at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Bring important documents for safe and secure on-site shredding. Wayne County will also be on site collecting resident-only tires. Drop-off for these items will be from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
