This NEW program runs for 8 weeks! There is no need to register for any additional classes as your participation in all other classes is built right into your enrollment fee! By participating in this 8-week Adventure program, your child has access to ALL art classes, cooking classes, and combo camps offered this summer through Parks and Recreation. Think of this as your Cultural Center "membership" to summer fun!

The great outdoors becomes our kitchen as we prepare food in the Cultural Center house and then cook it over an open campfire! With adult supervision, we'll have them prepping meals and cooking over the campfire - on a stick, wrapped in foil or in a pan. Everything tastes better roasted over an open fire!

This popular class will implement many skills including kitchen safety, table manners, table setting, food preparation, proper food handling and baking and cooking techniques!

The goals of this class are: to engage participants in physical activity; encourage exercise in the great outdoors, and introduce parks and trails as a fun place to be active and healthy! Class will be held outdoors (weather permitting) please send students with a water bottle. Drop off for this class will be in the Cultural Center Barn.

Calling all Preteens & Teens! This cooking class is just for you. Our staff will take a step back allowing the participants to follow the recipes, find the supplies and locate the ingredients with minimum assistance. In this class, the kitchen becomes yours!

Class will always start with academic circle time! Then ingredients will be listed and a demonstration of the recipe will be shown. Children will then get busy in the kitchen creating and of course eating! This year parents are more than welcome to encourage independence and "drop off" their child to this class!

Andrea Segedi has been a teacher at Hedke Elementary School in Trenton for the past 19 years. She earned her bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University and her master's degree from the University of Michigan. She is well trained in "current best practices" for teaching math and writing that supports the Common Core. She will notice your child's strengths and what your child needs to work on and get your child smarter than s/he already is!

This Farm to Table Cooking Class builds enthusiasm around fresh fruits and vegetables and empowers students with the skills and the desire to prepare healthy meals. The ingredients will come directly from our very own "Community Garden" located on the Cultural Center grounds.

This class is for Junior Police Officers and future Firefighters! For the first 5-weeks, classes will meet in the barn. We will engage in ALL things police and firefighter related! We will even make and taste some creative foods to match the theme of this "first responders" class. For the 6th and final class we will meet at our very own Trenton Police and Fire Station to take a tour and see where our hometown heroes spend their days and nights! Parents are responsible for transporting their child to the police/fire station.

Each day students will engage in exercise, outdoor games, nature activities, short walks, sports skills and social interactions. We will be cooking in the house & creating arts and crafts in the barn each day.

Improve those fine motor and gross motor skills all in one class! During scribble time the emphasis will be on the process of creating while using scissors, writing utensils, paint brushes and other tools to sharpen our fine motor skills. During big wiggle time, students will develop gross motor skills while playing a large variety of games and engaging in exercises! Drop your child off for this class in the Cultural Center Barn.

Treat your little doll, baby or stuffed animal and yourself to six afternoons of pampering! This class will include playing I Spy on the lovely grounds, making dainty crafts, baking delicious desserts and drinking sweet tea out of fancy tea cups. Create memories with your favorite baby doll or stuffed animal that you will never forget! Drop your child off for this class inside the barn.

It's amazing! Learn the basics of how to do magic with this interactive, hands-on class taught by magician John Russell! Students will learn general magic principles, specific magic tricks and how to perform them, concluding with an opportunity to show what they've learned at the end of the week! Class fee includes a magic kit and booklet to continue your studies. Space Limited!

For six, fun-filled weeks we're on the move with field trips every weekday for young people with cognitive impairment, ages 10-25 years old. We have an exciting, state-certified summer day camp program that will include staying cool at the Kennedy Aquatic Center, bowling, miniature golf and tennis. Limit: 30.

Flip flop your way around our very own town by joining us for our new end-of-summer, week-long camp. Each day we will flip flop (walk) to a different destination on West Road and engage in a "field trip" like experience. One day we will walk to Kennedy Aquatic Center to swim! Another day we will walk to the Trenton Veterans Memorial Library to read! In addition to our daily field trips, students will engage in exercise, outdoor games, nature activities, sports skills and social interactions.

Is your family tired of trying to figure out what to make for dinner? Then this class is just for YOU! Students in this class will prepare a classic main course dinner followed by a satisfying dessert each week. Drop your child off to class for dinner and you can go out to dinner!
