Bill is entering his 15th year with the Engineering Department. Prior to becoming the City Engineer in 2004, he was the Assistant City Engineer working under Mr. Boyd Arthurs.

Mr. Hogan is the Department Head for the Engineering and Building Departments, Department of Public Works and the City-owned WWTP.

Including private consulting before coming to the City, Mr. Hogan has over 25 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management. Mr. Hogan is a BSCE graduate of Lawrence Technological University and is a registered Professional Engineer in Michigan, #40044.

Engineering Projects

The Engineering Department is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure of the City. The infrastructure would include streets, sidewalks, sanitary and storm sewers and water mains. The maintenance would either be by initiating new projects or by reacting to citizen concerns. This department also reviews and issues soil erosion permits together with the enforcement of flood plain management issues. This department is also responsible for: maintaining city maps for sewers, water and pavements; issuing house numbers; reviewing plans; maintaining City facilities and working with environmental issues.
