Property Tax Information

All property owners in the City of Trenton receive two tax bills per year. The summer bill is mailed on July 1st and payable by August 31st without penalty. The winter tax bill is mailed on December 1st and is payable by February 14th without penalty. If a due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date becomes the next business day. Penalty on a late tax bill is 4%.

Tax Payments

Tax payments are accepted at our office from July 1 through the end of February. Beginning March 1st of each year, all delinquent real property taxes are fowarded to Wayne County Treasurer’s Office for collection. You can visit their website or call 313-224-5990 for pay off information.

Personal Property Taxes

All taxes levied on business personal property are collected through the City Treasurer’s Office. Any business operating on December 31 of any year will be responsible for the next year’s entire billing cycle (both Summer and Winter bills). This is a State of Michigan law.
